What Are Healing Rooms?
Healing Rooms are prayer ministry centres where trained Christian volunteers minister healing prayer to individuals in a confidential and loving environment.
Our goal is to create opportunities for people to encounter Jesus Christ and experience His healing presence. We welcome anyone - regardless of background or belief - who desires prayer.
Our ministry is founded upon the belief that Jesus still heals today and desires to demonstrate His love and power through His Church.
Part of a Global Movement
What began as a local act of faith has become a worldwide ministry touching millions of lives.
The Original Vision
John G. Lake established the first Healing Rooms in Spokane, Washington, where thousands experienced miraculous healing through prayer.
The Movement Reborn
Cal and Michelle Pierce, led by God, reopened Healing Rooms in Spokane on July 22, 1999 - restoring the vision and igniting a global revival of prayer ministry.
IAHR - A Global Network
The International Association of Healing Rooms (IAHR) now spans nations around the world - including right here in Harare, Zimbabwe, where we serve our community with the same faith and compassion.
What the Bible Says About Healing
Our ministry is not built on tradition alone - it is built on the living Word of God. Jesus healed throughout His earthly ministry and commissioned His followers to do the same.
He commissioned His followers to continue His ministry of healing and compassion.
The foundation of our ministry
"By His wounds we are healed."
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
"Heal the sick, raise the dead."
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
"They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
These signs will accompany those who believe... they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.
"The prayer of faith will heal the sick."
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.
Statement of Faith
Our ministry is anchored in the historic Christian faith and the authority of Scripture.
The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
There is one God eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man.
Salvation is found through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
The Holy Spirit empowers believers for Christian living and ministry.
Divine healing is available through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
The Church is called to proclaim the Gospel and demonstrate God's love.
Jesus Christ will return in glory and power.
Trained, Compassionate, Called
Every Healing Rooms prayer minister goes through training focused on the biblical basis for healing prayer, compassionate listening, and Spirit-led ministry.
We serve with humility, recognising that it is Jesus who heals - we simply pray and trust Him with the results.
